What began as a dream on the back porch of a home on the south side of Chicago has grown into a small language arts publishing company. Developed by teachers, The Stack the Deck Writing Program is a series of practical and functional composition books, grades 1-12, that takes the mystery out of writing. Based on solid, National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) endorsed theory, the series recognizes students' innate language sense. It teaches them to hone that sense into clear, thoughtful, precise writing. It builds student confidence and develops ability one fail-safe step at a time. In effect, the program stacks the deck in favor of success–for both students and teachers.
